T.S. Eliot, From The Burial of the Dead in The Wasteland
I adore this poem, can you believe it is almost one hundred years old now?
I just booked tickets to see Danny Boyle’s theatre production of ‘Frankenstein’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in the cinema. Yes, I’ve booked both viewings (they alternate roles and I want to see the juxtaposition and dynamic of this) and yes, I am really excited.
(I needed something to motivate me to revise, haha).
Coward is me? coward I be not,
O’ beauty dark – impermeable, closed,
I look’d in vain, but to see thee I cannot.
